Frequently asked questions

You Weren't The First To Wonder...

OUr MOst Frequently asked wedding questions

How do we reserve our wedding date?

A non-refundable retainer will keep your date. There will also be a contract that will need to be signed, and the remainder of the fee will be due anytime up to eight weeks before your wedding date.

Do you have insurance?

Yes and we are happy to provide a copy to any vendor who requests it.

How many photos will we receive?

On average, we deliver 75-100 photos per hour of coverage. We deliver as many photos as we possibly can, whilst removing any that are not up to standard or are duplicates.

What happens if you get sick on our wedding day?

This is a super common question we receive! Luckily, I've never been sick or ill enough to worry about this sort of thing, but God forbid and knock on wood that there comes a day, we are feel confident in our team if needed. One of the benefits of hiring a studio with a team is this scenario! Our team is all trained in our signature style and professional approach on wedding days, so we always have back up options available.

How many photographers will we have?

We recommend, and always work, with two photographers. It helps to ensure an added form of protection as well as a secondary, story-telling angle. It also helps us to cover multiple things at once. One photographer will be with the bride and bridesmaid during the getting ready, while the second photographer is with the groom and groomsmen. The second photographer then shoots additional angles during crucial moments, like the ceremony, first dances, and speeches, while assisting and photographing during the formal portraits. There will always be two of us, unless you specifically request a smaller package for a more intimate wedding with just one photographer!

Can you visit our venue before the wedding day to scope out photo locations?

We do not do site visits to venues and have found them to be unnecessary over the years, as lighting, weather, the property's features -such as trees and greenery-, and other conditions can change vastly from the time of a visit to the wedding day. We photograph at new venues every weekend throughout the East Coast region, and part of our expertise as wedding photographers is scouting locations on the spot. We make sure to arrive early as well for location scouting. We're happy to look through your photos and videos of the property that you take on your visit, too!

Can I customize a collection?

Absolutely! We can tailor a package to custom fit your wedding day celebration based on our a la carte menu. Please email us your wish list and we will craft you a customized option for your review.

Can we meet you for coffee?

You are most welcome to come for a visit if you'd like to! You can meet me either before you book me or closer to your wedding day to run through anything you're feeling uncertain about. Generally, we touch base in-person or through a video call closer to the wedding date so we can go over details when they are more finalized. My studio is Ocean City, NJ and I love getting together at coffee shops because... well, let's be honest, I live off of coffee. Email me to work out a time and for directions! I'm also happy to chat via FaceTime or Google Hangouts if that's easier.

How and when do we receive our images?

When your images are ready, they will be uploaded to your online gallery and delivered to you via email. We aim to have them delivered to you around 6-8 weeks after your wedding date. For engagement sessions, our turn around time is 2-4 weeks.

We are really awkward/ camera-shy. Will you be able to make us look natural?

Most of us feel that way and so many couples of ours say this! Truth this, when you are with your favorite person, the nervous feeling will go away. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and tap into who you are together, so we can get those genuine shots! As long as you trust and let loose, you won't get caught up in the 'where do I put my hands, am I doing it right?' kinda feeling.

Hopefully after the first 10 minutes  you won't even notice the camera anymore. Most of the day we'll be documenting slyly without putting you into any awkward poses. During the organized portraits of the two of you and those with bridal party and family, we will give you a bit of direction so you don't feel lost. Our main approach is for you to be relaxed and your natural selves!

Do we feed you?

If we are with you for 5+ hours, yes please. Running around with camera gear is hungry work and we'll show my appreciation with renewed photo-taking energy. It also help to mention to your caterers that we ought to eat at the same time as you (if it's sit down), that way we don't miss the beginning of speeches, dances or anything else we would love to capture. Nobody likes having their photo taken with a mouth full of food anyway!

What amount of time should we allot for portraits?

Usually anywhere from 1.5-2 hours for family, bridal party and couples portraits allows for plenty of time.

When is the best time for portraits?

If we haven't yet chatted through your timeline, reach out or schedule a call so we can help determine this for you! We also have sample timelines we can send for your review. We of course love to photograph during golden hour (the hour before sunset), but if your timeline doesn't allow for portraits during that time, we can sneak out during the reception with just the two of you for some sunset portrait time! It's usually only a few quick minutes and everyone always loves the quiet moments during the escape.

I'm getting married in a different state/country. Do you travel?

Yes of course! We have photographed around the country and world, and we always love discovering new places.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Most definitely. We highly recommend you keep your photos beautifully printed and not just as pixels on a screen. You can have a look at a little preview and more info here.

How do we get the most out of you?

We tend to do our best work when we're able to document things as they naturally unfold, rather than with a list of shots. Other than the wedding day worksheet and questionnaires we send, we won't need additional lists or information. Don't worry, we will see all the little details you've put your heart and soul into too, but more than that, without our nose stuck to a piece of paper, trying to tick things off, we'll have the chance to capture all the realness and special unrehearsed moments that will be unique to your wedding that may have much more soul to them.

Do you supply the RAW files?

We do not. The editing process just as important as the shooting, and both combined are the end result which we are proud to pass on to you. You will however receive high resolution JPG files that you can print from, as well as share.

Do we own the rights to our digital images?

Clients are given the rights to all the personal usages of their digital images. This means you can print, share, email, and post to all of your heart's desire! What you can't do is use them for more commercial purposes, such as selling them for a billboard or a t-shirt, or any other form of official publishing. We like to distribute the images to your vendors ourselves so they receive proper crediting guidelines, and we also take care of submitting to blogs and publications on our end. We kindly require that you credit us when sharing online.

Do you offer videography?

Currently, we do not. We are happy to recommend videographers.

Can you recommend planners, florists, and other vendors for our wedding day?

I've worked with some of the best. Feel free to ask for any recommendations!
