A Summertime Merion Golf Club Wedding

Nestled in lush greenery, Merion Golf Club played host to Erica & Wes’ summer wedding that blended the elegance of matrimony with the picturesque charm of the outdoors. Erica got ready for the day in the historic building and her timeless details were the perfect match for the space. The ceremony took place in a local church. After the vows, the couple was greeted by their guests in a receiving line of claps and cheers. It’s always such a fun moment when couples emerge for the first time as husband & wife!

The golf club setting was special to them, as they are both avid golfers. Erica is an especially talented golfer, and she even played for Wake Forest in her college days. Merion is one of the most exclusive golf clubs on the east coast. The club’s membership status is invite-only, and Erica was invited by the club to be a member. She obviously accepted, which is why the couple was able to host their wedding reception there!

The summer sun cast a warm glow over Merion Golf Club, where we captured portraits of this sweet couple. We strolled around the grounds which were full of natural beauty. The vibrant greenery provided a beautiful backdrop for photos.  The reception unfolded with the setting sun. The venue’s expansive windows allowed guests to enjoy the panoramic views, creating an immersive experience that seamlessly blended the indoor and outdoor spaces. Tables adorned with summer florals and elegant décor created an inviting atmosphere within the reception area.

Just after sunset, we were able to sneak outside to the golf course for a few more romantic portraits of the couple. Back inside, the clinking of glasses and the laughter of friends and family filled the air as the couple danced their way into the evening, surrounded by the love and support of those who gathered to celebrate their union. It was such an honor to photograph this fun couple. Fun fact: later in 2024, Ashley also photographed Erica’s sister’s wedding on Labor Day weekend! It’s so much fun when we get to connect with families and work with them on multiple weddings.
