When brides ask me about my favorite South Jersey wedding venues, I have a short list at the ready. These are the best and most unique NJ wedding venues, especially for the boho romantic bride. Most of my personal “Top Five South Jersey Venues” are suitable for every wedding couple’s vision, and all have stellar reputations for their management, amenities, and individual appeal. That’s why you’ll see them featured in all the major bridal sites and magazines, and someday, I hope one of them will feature in your wedding album! We love working at these bohemian wedding venues in NJ, and if you’d like to see more of our work at any of them, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help recommend additional venues and fitting vendors as well!
Are you looking for a contemporary venue with “coastal chic”? That’s exactly how The Reeds at Shelter Haven describes its waterfront reception hall and expansive deck… and I definitely concur. Throw open the glass doors to enjoy the fresh ocean air without leaving the party, and get creative with me as we take advantage of all the photo opportunities on and around the grounds: The boat ramp, the charming front entrance, the getting ready rooms, and the gorgeous seagrass-carpeted shore. The Reeds is one of my favorites!
Cape May County has so many wonderful venue choices, and one of them is the popular Abbie Holmes Estate. Owned and beautifully restored by a talented caterer, The Abbie Holmes Estate is thoughtfully appointed with weddings in mind. Say your vows on the lush green lawn, or under the white timber-frame beams of the new Springhouse Chapel pavilion. Greet your guests on the cobblestone courtyard, and easily adapt the setting to your personal aesthetic. The Abbie Holmes Estate is perfect for the bohemian yet refined bride, blending country charm with provincial style.
Romantic, whimsical, traditional… Willow Creek Winery sets the stage for your ideal wedding. Let the venue arrange for a horse-drawn carriage to deliver you to the ceremony, or wander among the grapevines for a California-style winery setting in the heart of Cape May.
Book the 12,000 square-foot Amish-built post-and-beam hall for a reception bathed in the warm glow of light reflected from the dramatic, sparkling chandeliers.
With the beach close by, and access to the enormous Colonial-style main building, we won’t run out of options for portrait locations!
If you were stranded on an island, which of your favorite people would you want with you? At Bonnet Island Estate, there’s room for everyone! One of several estates owned and operated by Weddings of Distinction, Bonnet Island Estate is exclusive yet laid-back, bringing families together to celebrate your day apart (yet not too far) from the rest of the world.
Get ready in the Bridal Parlor—a photographer’s dream setting, thanks to its bright, warm hues—while the guys get ready over at the Groom’s Shack. Stage your ceremony in front of the massive stone fireplace in the Boathouse Chapel, a barn-style vintage building brought to Bonnet Island from New England. Then take the party to the enormous, cathedral-ceilinged, 250-guest capacity ballroom for dinner and dancing, and when it comes time to slip away, you’ve got your choice of 12 beautifully-decorate guest rooms in which to spend your first night as a married couple.
Did I forget to mention the docks, the seawall, and golden lamplight light reflecting water just outside the main house? This venue has everything. You’ll love it as much as I do!
Linwood Country Club is one of our favorite New Jersey wedding venues. This popular venue is located in Linwood, New Jersey. The club offers a picturesque setting, including the golf course and the country club’s beautifully landscaped surroundings. A variety of indoor and outdoor venues are available, like banquet rooms, ballrooms, terraces, gardens, and verandas to suit different preferences, sizes, and styles.
Overall, Linwood CC provides elegant and sophisticated wedding ceremony and reception spaces, excellent cuisine and service, and a serene ambiance, all of which come together to make it a desirable wedding destination for many couples.
Which of these venues appeals to you? If you haven’t toured any of these wedding locations, you absolutely should. While you’re there, imagine how your own personal touches can enhance the venue’s ambiance, and how you’d like your wedding photographer to take advantage of the various settings and natural light.
If you’d like my input, just ask! I can help you plan your day so you can get those dramatic sunset-over-the-water shots, and tell you whether or not the sunlight will make those coastal grasses glow during the “magic hour”. My job, after all, is to see the wedding of your dreams through a photographer’s eye, and if you fall in love with any of these South Jersey wedding venues, we’re both on the right path to the perfect wedding photographs!
