Ah, the joys of being a creative freelancer!
I’ll be my own boss! I can pursue my passion on my own terms! I get to go to parties every weekend! All of these are exciting motivators for up-and-coming professional wedding photographers. It’s certainly what drew me in, but once my brides began spreading the word on my behalf and my business really took off, I found that I was at risk of spreading myself thin. A very nice problem for a small business to have, but not when your reputation depends on creative energy and attention to detail!
I knew I needed a solution before my success became a problem. Rather than wear all the hats and compromise the quality of my work and customer care, I began adding new talent to my studio. And—surprise!—I gained more creative freedom, rather than giving up my space to create!
Now that we’re a team of photographers, I’ve found so many reasons why I am thankful our studio has grown in this direction. Below are just a few reasons why!
Have you ever treated yourself to a spa day, and half the experience was feeling that everyone was there just for you? The Magdalena Studios team gives me (and one another, through mutual support) that same sense of serenity, and because we’re working together, we can give you that level of care and attention, too… only without the mud, massages, and minnow pedicures, of course.
Each photographer on the team has their own passion for photography, and each brings to the table their own specialized skills, from administrative work to photo editing to album design. We work together as individuals to build a friendly, creative, and efficient studio culture, and this collaborative approach empowers us to rally together and take the best possible care of you.
There are only so many weekends in a year, and I always book up well in advance. It makes me sad to have a former client refer me to her best friend or sister, only to have to turn her away due to a previous engagement!
My primary studio partner (and partner in life) Scott and I decided it was time to expand our team to better serve our clients, and we began the painstaking process of setting the bar high and selecting the right talent. We choose our Magdalena Studios Team photographers based on their professionalism, personalities, and technical skills, and each of our team members has an instinct for creating images that embody our signature joyful, effortless, vibrant style. We’ve coached them to adopt the Magdalena Studios brand aesthetic, and have absolute confidence in not only their technique, but also their professionalism and attitude. Through our Team, we can now offer our clients more pricing options and booking availability.
When you book me or any one of the Magdalena Studios Team members, you won’t be left without a photographer in the very rare and unfortunate case we get ill or can’t make your wedding due to a major emergency. If you’ve booked a two-photographer team for your event, each shooter’s images will blend seamlessly with the others. And when it comes time to design your custom albums, they’ll have the same look and style you fell in love with when you saw our sample layouts.
You might book one of us for your engagement photos, and another for your wedding. A few years down the road, you might ask us to photograph your first family portrait. No matter which of us you choose, your story will carry that same romantic Magdalena Studios style… and you’ll experience the same level of customer care.
