A Spring Wedding At Fairmount Park Horticultural Center

The Fairmount Park Horticulture Center wedding venue is one of our all-time favorite wedding locations in the Philadelphia area! Fairmount Park Horticulture Center is a gorgeous greenhouse and is perfect for a Philadelphia wedding in any season because of it’s indoor and outdoor party spaces. There’s something about the soft romance of overflowing greenery, dainty fairy lights and lush foliage that creates the perfect backdrop for unforgettable nuptials. It’s always a treat working with Philadelphia wedding planner Shannon Wellington Weddings, who is a genius when it comes to planning and stylish details! BeLovely Floral Co. styled the most perfect spring florals, and the intimate space came together with beautiful settings throughout from Maggpie Rentals! Melissa & Keith’s wedding can best be described as boho-chic, magical and romantic!

M&K chose a neutral color palette. It was the perfect mix of terracotta, peach, caramel & dusty pink. While planning, Melissa gravitated towards the earthy, bohemian style, but also wanted to incorporate a touch of romantic elegance. The colors were the perfect fit for the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, elegant and chic, yet found easily in nature! BeLovely Floral Co. created the dreamiest floral arch filled with pampas grass, dried flowers & soft roses. Her idea to add hints of yellow florals to the arch was brilliant and really enhanced the soft, muted color palette. The Moroccan lanterns & vintage rug from Maggpie Rentals were the perfect finishing touches to an unforgettable ceremony backdrop. You won’t want to miss all the gorgeous details from this romantic, garden Fairmount Park Horticulture Center wedding.

From Melissa, “It was a real-life fairy tale setting for our ‘I dos.’” The seating display was designed beautifully by Shannon Wellington & Lewes Lettering. The names and table numbers were meticulously written on an assortment of terracotta, white, and caramel clay vases. The display was complete with cascading macramé and mini candle votives. The look was organic yet romantic and matched the aesthetic completely! M&K wanted their color palette to create a natural & soft, alluring look. Adding sparkly accents, like the ultra chic silver & rose gold disco balls, helped to brighten the space and illuminate the dance floor. From Melissa, “Our guests totally danced & “disco-ed” the whole night under the shimmering installs!”

“We chose Magdalena Studios (as our photographer) because we loved her photography style and aesthetic! All of her photographs are timeless and exquisite! From the minute we met Magi we instantly connected. Her energy and passion is a breath of fresh air and her work speaks for itself, and she is such a sweet and thoughtful soul. Magi’s talent is truly limitless. Our wedding day wouldn’t have been the same without Magi and Scott! Our favorite part about working with Magi was her strong work ethic, positive energy and passion! It was easy to be natural around such a calming and sweet presence. She has a creative eye and understood the style & vision I was going for. Her talent is limitless! Magi also captures the sweetest moments. Thanks to her these moments will now be etched in our hearts forever.”

“One of our favorite moments of the night was our first dance. Two weeks before our wedding Keith and I decided we would surprise our guests with a choreographed first dance. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we didn’t expect that last week to be filled with so much emotional stress as the world officially declared a full-on pandemic. With so much going on and many last-minute changes, our choreographed dance was the last thing on our minds. Then, on the day of our wedding, right before our DJ introduced us, Keith and I spontaneously agreed to give our audience a show. Our guests were so surprised and applauded our performance.”

Melissa’s Advice To Future Brides

“It can be so easy to get caught up in the wedding planning process, in thinking about the details, what might go wrong and what people expect of you that you can sometimes forget what matters most. It’s important to remember there aren’t many moments in your life where all of your favorite people come together to celebrate a union of love. The day honestly goes by so fast, so be fully present, don’t sweat the small stuff, and cherish this monumental moment in your life.”
