A Romantic Engagement Session in New Hope, PA at Hotel du Village

If you have never been to New Hope, Pennsylvania, put it on your list. The town has a way of drawing you in with the cobblestone charm, leafy streets, little storefronts and restaurants that feel like they have always been there. It is the kind of place that does not need to try very hard to be romantic. And for Lianna and Adam’s engagement session, it was the most natural choice in the world.

We started right in the heart of town. Rather than posing a couple in front of a backdrop, we simply walked with them through the streets of New Hope, past the shops, along the sidewalks they would wander on any given Saturday. They held hands, laughed together, stopped when something caught their eye, and took light direction from us when needed. We were there to document it all, and what came through is exactly what we always hope for: two people who are completely, genuinely themselves.

That naturalness and ease is not something you can manufacture in front of a camera. It comes from a couple who is comfortable with each other, and from a session that gives them room to just be. Lianna and Adam gave us that in abundance.

As the afternoon light began to soften, we made our way over to Hotel du Village, a breathtaking French-inspired estate on the edge of town that somehow manages to feel both grand and intimate at the same time. The grounds are lush and manicured, the stone architecture is romantic and timeless, and the gardens in that late golden hour light are perfection. Lianna and Adam frolicked through the grounds as the sun dropped lower and lower, and we chased the light right along with them.

This is the kind of session that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. No stiffness, no forced smiles, just two people wildly in love, a stunning location, and the kind of golden light that makes everything feel like a dream. New Hope is already one of our favorite places to photograph couples in the greater Philadelphia area, and Hotel du Village has officially cemented itself near the very top of our list.
