Most of you know me as a wedding photographer, but what might surprise you is that I’m also a licensed attorney in the State of New Jersey. The past few years have been FULL – I completed Rutgers law school with a focus on business and intellectual property (i.e. copyright and trademark), took – and passed! – the bar exam, worked as an associate for the prestigious, international Fox Rothschild Law Firm, and clerked for an appellate judge all while capturing hundreds of weddings and growing my own business, Magdalena Studios.
Through all of this, it should come as no surprise that I’ve found the best of the best business tools and racked up hundreds of hours writing, reviewing, and drafting contracts and other legal documents…and now? I’m handing it all over to other creative entrepreneurs!
I wanted to create a space to help creatives achieve success with foundational business practices and legal resources, share my favorite tools and tips, and even include a sprinkle of what’s currently inspiring me and helping me manage all the things. Why? If it involves supporting other like-minded, creative entrepreneurs — or brands — count me in.
If you’re a creative business owner, head on over to TheArtistsLawyer.com where you can sign up for consultation sessions and purchase pre-made, thoroughly drafted templates in the shop. Consider this your go-to resource for all the things you need to run your creative business. These are the EXACT tools I recommend and use myself – including the legal templates I personally created. My goal is to give creative entrepreneurs the legal and business tools they need, without the headache of legalese and to set up any creative business owner with the resources for success.
