A Moody, Magazine-Worthy Engagement Session at the Free Library of Philadelphia
Philadelphia has no shortage of beautiful backdrops for an engagement session, but every now and then a location stands out more than most, and the Free Library of Philadelphia is exactly that kind of place. Grand, architectural, dripping in old-world elegance. When Kristen and Dennis chose it as the setting for their Philadelphia engagement session, we were so excited.
The session began inside, and honestly, the Free Library’s iconic marble staircase alone makes this one of the most stunning indoor engagement session locations in all of Philadelphia. Natural light filters in through the towering windows, the architecture does half the work for you, and there’s a timeless, editorial quality to the space that photographs beautifully. Kristen and Dennis moved through it with total ease, laughing, close, and completely themselves. The grandeur of the building framed them in a way that felt cinematic and intimate all at once.
Once we moved outside, light rain had started falling. We crossed over to the Barnes Foundation, where the lush greenery surrounding the museum was damp but vibrant. The architecture of the building and the greenery of the grounds made for another perfect backdrop. The resulting portraits are rich and romantic. Deep greens, soft light, wet stone. Kristen and Dennis look like they belong in the pages of a magazine, and honestly, they do!
