A Colorful, Beach Wedding at ICONA Avalon

Ali and Sam’s wedding at ICONA Avalon was pure joy from start to finish, and we had the best time capturing every second of it. These two are high school sweethearts, and most of their bridal party was a group of friends who have known each other since they were kids. That kind of history is impossible to fake, and it shows in every single photo.

In addition to our standard digital photos, we captured a few rolls of film throughout the day. You’ll see the film photos with a white outline throughout this post. Ali and her girls set the tone immediately. The getting-ready room was full of laughter, good energy, and endless smiles. Add in the most stunning colorful florals from Savannah’s Garden Floral Boutique, complete with oranges, pinks, yellows, and blues, and the whole morning felt like a party before the party even started. We always love getting to photograph Savannah’s Garden’s work, and this was one of our favorites yet.

The first look happened on the beach path, and Sam’s reaction when he saw Ali was everything. The two of them together are so natural and genuine in front of the camera, and that energy carried through every portrait. Their bridal party joined them on the beach, and with that group, that palette, and that sky, we were in our absolute element.

The ceremony space was filled with Savannah’s Garden’s vibrant multi-colored arrangements, and everything looked incredible under the open blue sky with the shore as the backdrop. Ali and Sam said their vows surrounded by the people who have been part of their whole story, and when it was over they celebrated on the beach with their loved ones with hugs, smiles, and happy tears before heading to cocktail hour.

The reception was a full-on party. The dance floor stayed packed, the energy never dipped, and the ballroom at ICONA Avalon looked gorgeous. As the night settled in, we snuck away with Ali and Sam for one last moment on the beach. The sun had just set and the sky had gone soft and pastel and completely magical. One of those unexpected gifts a wedding day gives you when the timing lines up perfectly.

Back inside, Ali changed into a short party dress and danced the rest of the night away. The perfect ending. Scroll to see all of the magic!
